RDSird 1.0
RDSird © 1993 Steve Quartly and Paul Huxham
ImageFX © 1992, 1993 Nova Design
RDSird is freely redistributable
No guarantees are made as to the fitness of this software for any purpose
including the one it was intended for :-)
WHAT IS IT ?
An ImageFX hook module that converts the main image buffer into a
greyscale random dot stereogram.
If you don't know what stereoegrams are, there are a number of books and
text files around, describing them in great detail.
INSTALLATION
Copy the RDSird hook into ImageFX:Hooks.
Load ImageFX.
USING RDSIRD
Construct a greyscale image using the painting tools, or by loading an
existing image. The greyscale image should contain grey levels above 50 and
below 100.
Select Hook and choose RDSird.
You will be asked how deep to make the sird. This value represents the
depth of the image and the number of grey levels used to represent the
depth (the same thing really!). Use the default of 100.
In a very short time you will see the sird in place of the main buffer.
OPERATIONAL TIPS
Don't use grey levels that are out of range, they will cause streaking
and other artifacts to appear in the final image.
The best sirds from this hook are generated from source images around
640 across. Height is no problem.
TO DO
Support target bitmaps of any size, so you can make posters etc.
Make the image out of a picture instead of random dots.
Any others you can think of.
